Episode 17
A male friend once told me that all men are born jerks. Then something happens in their life, and they either become less of one, or more of one. It was a hilarious statement at the time. I guess you just had to be there. (Kaum lelaki, please don’t get upset. I’m just conveying an opinion stated by one of your own…)
People change. We all change. Sometimes it’s a near-death experience. Sometimes someone near to you dies. Death seems to be the more popular change agent, but it’s by far not the only one.
Life is too. New life, like the birth of a child. It’s mind-boggling how someone so little can have so much effect on your life, from the things you prioritise to the things you sacrifice, to the things you believe in.
This kind of change is good, because it makes you want to be a better person. It drives you to climb mountains for a better life. It forces you to be brave so that you can make the hard decisions. It pushes you to care about something bigger than yourself.
*****
We had a great weekend. Idris took a boatride around some kelongs in Kukup. Pictures will follow.
I agree Najah
.. especially with marriage and the soon to be daddy status, you realize that you have to change.
Though, I suspect that men have been coded with the jerk gene since azali, it is just the degree is different with each man

hi najah..
happy belated birthday to idris
who had a BIG bash hehe..
methinks the jerk factor has much to do with the guy/girl trying to escape unwanted attention. i agree with omecool20 too that it varies from person to person. the degree of niceness (or badness) in carrying out the jerk off deed, that is.
